Aux portes du Doubs, Marnay cache un patrimoine étonnant qui lui a valu l’obtention du label "Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" mais aussi, celui de "Station Verte" récompensant son engagement en faveur de l’environnement. Perché au-dessus de la rivière, le bourg a su garder quelques vestiges du passé, comme l’ancien Hôtel de Santans qui date du XVIème siècle et où s’épanouit le style de la Renaissance avec ses fenêtres à meneaux. Juste en face, l’église Saint-Symphorien qui présente plusieurs périodes architecturales (XIVème, XVème et XVIIème siècles) et abrite plusieurs statues remarquables. De l’ancien château, seuls subsistent la porte du pont-levis et quelques pans de fortifications. Le passé viticole de la cité est bien entendu caractérisé par les maisons vigneronnes et leurs caves traditionnelles. Marnay dévoile ainsi ses charmes discrets et pittoresques au fil de ses rues (la Rue Gambetta ou encore la Rue Bizot) et surtout tout au long de ses trajes (traje François Gauthier, Saint-Germain, Général Chalon…). Enfin, un plan d’eau de 20 hectares offre un lieu privilégié aux amateurs de sports nautiques, à l’instar du stand up paddle, de la tyrolienne aquatique sans oublier du canoëkayak. Located above the river, the village has retained some vestiges of the past, such as the old Hotel de Santans, which dates back to the 16th century and where the Renaissance style flourishes with its mullioned windows. Just across the street is the Church of St. Symphorien, which has several architectural periods (14th, 15th and 17th centuries) and has several remarkable statues. At the castle remain the gate of the drawbridge and some fortifications. The wine history of the city is of course characterized by the winehouses and their traditional cellars. Marnay shows its discreet and picturesque charms of its streets (Gambetta Street or Bizot Street) and especially its trajes (traje François Gauthier, Saint-Germain, Général Chalon...).
